Fees

Annandale General Practice is a private billing practice. Unfortunately, Medicare rebate levels have not been appropriately adjusted and is currently less than 50% of the recommended AMA fee. Please note that unfortunately from the 11th April 2023 we are no longer able to routinely offer bulk-billing GP consultations for children under the age of 5. This is a hard decision for us to make due to rising business and practice costs.

Discounted rate will apply to pension and concession card holders. We thank you for your continued support of Annandale General Practice.

If you are frustrated by the rebates available, we encourage you to get in contact with the local federal member.

Overseas students gap will also change.

We have recently updated our patient policy to include taking deposits for first appointments. We kindly ask that you commit in advance to your appointment by paying at $30 deposit at the time of booking with us. This amount will be deducted from the total cost of your appointment on the day. If your appointment needs to be rescheduled or cancelled you need to do this with a minimum of 2 hours’ notice before the appointment time so your deposit is not forfeited. Failure to turn up for the appointment on the day without notice will forfeit your deposit.

All skin check appointments with Dr Daniel Ong will incur a private fee of $160, with a rebate of $79.70 from Medicare. All surgical procedures are privately billed eg. Skin excision, biopsy, removal of foreign body, contraceptive procedures IUD and implanon incur a gap fee. Please note we generally require you to book a pre-insertion consult for implanon and IUD, skin excision or biopsy procedures to discuss your option, risk and benefit, complete consent form, discuss timing of next appointment etc. Some doctors also require a pre-consult for removal of devices eg implanon and IUD.

It is the policy of the Practice that payment for consultation is made at the time of your appointment. We accept cash payments and have EFTPOS facilities available (debit and credit card – Visa and Mastercard but NOT American Express). Medicare rebates may be claimed in person at a Medicare office, or can be sent online directly to Medicare and you will receive your rebate via direct deposit into your nominated bank account.

Payment is required on the same day as your appointment.

If an account is required, there is an additional administration fee of $15 which is not Medicare rebatable.
